Health & Safety Policy

Section 1 establishes a general commitment and outlines ACE’s policy concerning the health and safety of employees, students/customers, contractors, and visitors.

Subsequent sections detail the responsibilities of the employer, employees, students/customers, contractors, and visitors and describe the arrangements in place to achieve the objectives stated in Section 2.

1. Policy Statement: ACE fully acknowledges its obligations under national and international legislation and regulations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high health and safety standards in the workplace. This commitment involves integrating health and safety principles into all operational procedures. ACE strives to create a safe work environment by implementing, monitoring, assessing, and periodically reviewing a variety of measures. These measures aim to address the risks associated with work activities and develop effective safety measures.

2. Objectives: ACE aims to achieve the following health and safety objectives:

Eliminate preventable accidental injuries related to work activities and business development.
Operate the business with maximum consideration for the health, safety, and welfare of employees, students/customers, contractors, and visitors.
Maintain satisfactory health and safety standards to prevent formal statutory action under relevant national legislation.

3. Responsibilities: The overall and daily compliance with health and safety standards rests with the Company. Specific responsibilities are outlined for the Managing Director, Health & Safety Officer, employees, students/customers, contractors, and visitors.

3.1 The Managing Director will:

Ensure effective planning, organization, control, and review of health and safety.
Provide adequate management structures, resources, and facilities for the health, safety, and welfare of employees and students/customers.
Create and promote a safety culture, monitor operational procedures, and review ACE’s health and safety performance annually.

3.2 The Health & Safety Officer will:

Promote a safety culture and stay updated on regulatory advancements.
Devise and monitor the implementation of health and safety policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance.
Provide information and training, conduct routine checks, and ensure premises’ safety.

3.3 Employees will:

Familiarise themselves with the Health and Safety Policy.
Use safety equipment, report accidents, and maintain good housekeeping.

3.4 Students/Customers will:

Familiarise themselves with and adhere to the Health & Safety Policy.
Follow safety rules, wear ID badges, and report hazards.

3.5 Contractors and visitors will:

Familiarise themselves with and adhere to the Health & Safety Policy.
Follow safety rules, use appropriate equipment, and report incidents.

4. General Arrangements: Sections cover risk assessment, first aid, accidents, fire safety, awareness, consultation, and training. Specific procedures for spillages, access, manual handling, and review are outlined.

5. Specific Hazards: Common hazards such as display screen equipment, housekeeping, access, manual handling, and substances hazardous to health are addressed. Appendices provide additional information.

6. Review: The company health and safety policy will undergo an annual review, with amendments made as needed based on organizational changes or alterations to work methods. Any changes will be communicated to employees.
